Dave Nagy Sr. with award from PPG for 25 years of partnership.
Back in 1989, Dave Nagy Sr.—known as “Pops” to just about everyone—decided it was finally time to chase his dream of owning a body shop. After decades of working in the auto industry, he had both the knowledge and the drive. He found the perfect spot at the corner of US-12 and Miller Highway in Brooklyn, right in the heart of his local community.
It started out as a small operation: just Dave, his wife Charlotte, and two other employees. It was nearly a one-man show in those early days. But it didn’t take long for things to grow. Before long, they needed more space and more hands-on deck.
In October 2010, a brand-new 4,000-square-foot body shop was built to meet the increasing demand for repair services. Around that time, Dave’s grandson Jeff—now working full-time alongside his grandpa—came up with an idea: convert the old body shop into a full-service mechanical shop. By offering mechanical services in-house, Jeff could ensure quicker turnaround times and maintain high repair standards. Plus, he knew this added service would be a huge help to the local community.

In 2016, Jeff became the full owner of the repair facility. His younger brother Mike soon joined the team as an estimator and Body Shop Manager. After eight years of working side by side, Jeff and Mike were ready to grow the family business. They explored several options and eventually found the perfect second location in Tecumseh, MI. With a solid team in place, Mike officially opened the Tecumseh location on November 1, 2021—bringing our honest, skilled, and affordable services to even more customers.
Then, in the summer of 2025, another opportunity arose. Jeff and Mike purchased Jim’s Auto Body & Service in Napoleon—a shop with a long-standing reputation for excellence. After 35 years of dedication, Jim and Theresa Roberts were ready to retire, and we were honored to continue what they built.
What started as one man’s dream has grown into a full-fledged family passion, proudly serving thousands across Southern Michigan. We’re honored to carry on Pops’ legacy—with a team of some of the best in the industry—and grateful for the many customers who not only return time and again, but have become true friends along the way.
